Well it is that time of year now when it just seems wrong to be doing anything but sitting in the woods some where and being still! I am lucky enough to have family that loves to hunt and fish and have family that provides areas to do so. These are just a few of the many many pics of last years hunts and trust me each one has a great story to go along with it!! Here is to good friends, family and the fall!!

Cousins Hunting together will always have stories to tell!!

The Mighty hunter DigDug. This was one of the funnest and fun hunts I have been on in a long time!

And well the nicest buck of the year was a team effort between Groovis and myself. a great hunt and i hope to get to set in the stand again this year for round 2!

Well the day started out as a early one, 5:30 am at Rockfords Coffee . Clay and Ryan where all ready there waiting as I rolled in minutes late. Groovis on the other hand was about 20 Min late due to the fact that he is still trying to get his sleep adjusted to the newest member of the family. We were off the the races and hit the access around 7:15 am and unloaded the boats and dumped the gear. We then decided that Serenity Now would be the work horse for the day and not get her moment in the spot light. This due to the fact that she is 2 ft longer then my brothers calcka craft and all the seats and benches can be taken out and rearranged. So all the gear fit nice. We spent about 2 hours at the access getting some nice shots and then off we went down the might Yellowstone. The day was filled with movie quotes mostly it seems for Blades of Glory and Supper Bad! Good times, Good times. The fishing seemed to be a little slow so there was plenty of time for all of us to better get to know each other. As the day went on it seemed me imminent that the rain would catch up to us on some level. We did get one nice cutt on film that for some reason was jumping tail first. Go figure. We then stoped for some good dog time and good some good "Insert" footage of the dogs swimming and some fine shots of my hands as i tied on some flies . Now we knew the rain was on. As we switched boats for so the pros could capture some for footage we decided that the SW .357 needed to be tested . It worked!! well the rain did get us at the take out and we had a great time with good guys on a great river!ps note to self. If you are bald and ware a visor. always use sun block!

Just a start to the stickers on her stern....

Well after the pretty little thing was sitting in the driveway for 3 weeks she finally got her chines wet on what I consider one of the best rivers in the west. The Big Horn! As usual going back means hanging in town for a hour or two catching up with good friends and such. This trip was also special due the fact that this place was where my wife and I spent some of the best pre-kid years and had a blast her for 4 summers together. This trip we also go the see the new and improved Bighorn Trout Shop. This was my home away from home for since I was 10 or so and had some of the best times of my life as we as meet some of the best people in the world here. It was a little emotional not seeing all the old photos on the wall and just the newness of it all but Steve, JJ, Hale and Shelly did a great job. After the shuttle was paid for and some leaders purchased we said i good byes and off to 3 mile access we went. After a quick baptism in river we set off to see if we could find any trout. As I sat across from the take out and rigged up two nymph rods and a Dry fly rod , I realized that in the last 7 years i had lost some the the patience I had at one time and that the name of the boat, The Serenity Now, was very very appropriate. As we headed down the river we started to see plenty of fish rising and my beautiful girls let daddy stick a few while they made forts in the bow of the boat. My wife also got the feel back and started sticking some nice Bighorn Pigs after a few fly changes. Al in all it was a great start to a great weekend. after getting out at 13 mile access ( Bighorn ) we headed off to the Collins Ranch for some family fun and a some 7 and 7's with just a little water, lots of ice and just a splash of 7 up on top.
